Pollinator Garden

MacGregor Park Leads the Way

We have collaborated with Saugeen Shores Butterfly Way Project to create a pollinator garden at the Permit Office over the next number of seasons.

First Steps Spring of 2026:

  • Remove existing vegetation (mow and rake)

  • Lay down 3–5 layers of cardboard

  • Cover with approximately 1½ inches of wood chips

  • Begin construction of the dead hedge

  • Install signage

In the fall, locally sourced organic composted manure will be used to enrich the soil and native seeds gathers in Bruce County will be spread over the area to mimic a wildflower meadow.
