On April 22, we hosted the Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup in MacGregor Point Park. Ten volunteers came out on a rainy day to help clean up the litter along the shoreline in the park. Our most common finds were mylar balloons and ribbons, fireworks, debris, styrofoam, bottles and bottle caps, and discarded cans. We even picked up a broken lawn chair, a tarp, a pair of boxer shorts, and flip flops. Much of the litter was pushed by waves or wind into the trees along the beaches. We also found a lot of debris along the trails leading to the beaches. Please help us to educate people on how to produce less garbage when camping and to deal with it properly.
