Layna is excited to be joining the team as the Acting Chief Park Naturalist. Layna has always had a love and curiosity for the outdoors. She was influenced to pursue a Bachelors' of Child and Youth Care at Humber College. Her former work experiences as a youth worker and outdoor educator in Toronto led her to an opportunity as the Assistant Environmental Programming Officer of Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary outside of Cornwall, ON. Her several years of experience working with the St. Lawrence Parks Commission led her to pursue the opportunity as the Acting Chief Park Naturalist at MacGregor Point. Layna is passionate for the positive effects the outdoors has on wellness. She is a lifelong learner and contributor to growing present and future stewards of the environment. She will serve as the Park Liaison for the Friends of MacGregor Point Park.
